On Panchami, more than 9.82 lakh passengers have travelled in the Metro. This has been the highest ever daily passenger count in the history of Metro Railway. Last year, 41.15 lakh passengers travelled in the Metro from Panchami to Dashami. The previous highest passenger count in Puja was 45.61 lakh in 2019.

Among all Kolkata Metro stations, Kalighat registered the maximum passenger count of more than 4.06 lakhs followed by Dumdum, more than 3.95 lakhs. Sovabazar-Sutanuti registered third highest passenger count of more than 2.88 lakhs.

Similarly, the Sealdah station of Green Line recorded passenger count of more than 2.68 lakhs. Howrah Metro station of the same Corridor saw more than 2.65 lakh passengers during Puja days.
During Durga Puja 2025, the passengers have opted for digital mode of ticketing. According to Kolkata Metro, more than 5.01 lakh passengers have booked tickets through AAMAR KOLKATA METRO app, from Panchami to Dashami. Apart from that under the new scheme, 18,498 Smart Cards have been issued from Panchami to Dashami and more than 1.59 lakh Smart Cards have been revalidated for 10 years.
“A total of 646 Tourist Smart Cards have also been sold from Panchami to Dashami. A large number of commuters also opted for booking tickets from Ticket Vending Machines (TVM). In September, 2025, more than 80,000 Smart Cards have been sold. In August, this figure was more than 50,000,” the Kolkata Metro said in a statement.
