Presidency student dies of suspected drug overdose

Sumantika Banerjee and her room mate Subarna Lama were found unconscious this morning after police broke open the door of the room. They were staying as paying guests, under Muchipara police station in central part of the city, they said.

Both the girls, from North Bengal, were rushed to the Calcutta Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Sumantika brought dead, they said.

Lama, who is working here in the city, was in a critical condition, police said, adding that body of the deceased was sent for post mortem.
