The song also talks about the advent of AI and robots in our lives.
It was a nine-minute performance by Bengali rock band Hooliganism, taking a dig at all the political parties – from Left to Right to Centre – that has now gone viral and has led to a police complaint, filed by a BJP leader.
Led by actor Anirban Bhattacharya, the band’s rap song, “Tumi Mosti Korbe, Jani ( We know you will have fun)”, is a satire on present-day politics and society. From raising the controversial SIR (Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls) to recent disputes over mosques in the country, the song also takes a dig at CPI(M)’s political decimation in West Bengal and a TMC leader for being “thin-skinned”.

The video of August 31 performance at Milan Mela Prangan in Kolkata, which has gone viral now, starts with Anirban and his band members – Subhadeep Guha, Debraj Bhattacharya, Krishanu Ghosh, Sushruta Goswami, Nilansuk Datta, Pritam Das, Pritam Deb Sarkar, and Someswar Bhattacharya, all dressed in a blue-black uniform and hat, talk about the “helplessness” of common people.
The band quickly takes up the issue of SIR and takes a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Kagoj amra dekhabo, kaaron amader kachhe kagoj achhe… Bhai, SIR ki bolche?
Jhadai, bachai cholche
(We will show the papers because we have them
Brother, what does the SIR say?
Sweeping and sorting is underway),” the band sings.
Talking about political leaders changing parties before the elections, the band sarcastically advises people not to pay heed to such things.
Knowing that the song will not be liked, it says: “Rege jaabe Kunal Ghosh” (TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh will be angry).”

The band then targets two other Ghosh – BJP’s Dilip Ghosh and CPI(M) Shatarup Ghosh. While calling Dilip Ghosh a romantic – he recently got married to a BJP worker – the band takes a dig at his remark that gold can be found in cow milk. Mocking the BJP leader, the song tells people to “shut all the jewellery shops as gold is in cow milk”.
The band also mocks CPI(M) leader Shatarup Ghosh for allegedly using a luxury car, and says sarcastically that the biggest question haunting West Bengal is why the CPI(M) is zero, referring to the party’s political decimation in the state.
The song also talks about the advent of AI and robots in our lives.
In his complaint, BJP leader and lawyer Tarunjyoti Tiwari has accused Anirban and his band of “mocking Sanatan Dharma and Sanatanis”.

“His remarks were made not as casual commentary but with deliberate intent, thereby insulting my religious beliefs and the sentiments of millions of Sanatanis. It was done intentionally for cheap promotion of his band by hurting our sentiment,” the BJP member stated in his complaint and sought “penal provisions” against them under the law.”
Meanwhile, both TMC’s Kunal Ghosh and CPI(M)’s Shatarup Ghosh said they were not offended by the song.
“Why will I get angry? I rather had fun. I enjoyed listening to this style of song. Stay well, Anirban,” he said when asked to comment on the viral song.
Shatarup Ghosh also said that he “enjoyed listening to the song.” “I am happy that I was one of the characters on that song,” the CPI(M) leader said.
