PSEB postpones first semester results again

Due to this delay,schools have been facing a problem of thin attendance of students in the second semester. The first terminal exams of the of the class X and XII second semester are scheduled to start on December 10.

The principal of a government school said,“The children are still waiting for the results of the first semester and,thus,not coming to school in full strength. Following this,we will face problems conducting the first terminal exams of the second semester.”

Meanwhile,the affiliated school have criticised what they feel amounts to “step-motherly” treatment by the Board. PSEB Affiliated Schools Association President Rajinder Sharma said,”’The Board has increased the continuation fee,the fee for creating new examination centres for affiliated schools. It is 10 times more than that of government and government-aided schools. Moreover,the Board did not pay us for checking the answer sheets of Environmental Science and Computer Science,which it had earlier promised to do. The continuation fee of Open schools has also been increased,which will dig a deep hole in parents’ and schools’ pockets. The Board should reconsider these decision in the public interest. We are also going to give a memorandum in this regard to Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and the Board Chairman.”
