Teen boy dies after fall from 18th floor of housing society in Gurgaon; suicide suspected, say police

A 17-year-old boy died after falling from the 18th floor of a residential society in Sector 109, Gurgaon on early Friday, police said.

The boy was a Class 12 student at a private school in Southwest Delhi, officers added.

Police said that they suspect it to be a case of suicide, while adding that no suicide note has been found. Other angles are also being probed, police added.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 2.30 am when the boy went from the 10th floor of the society — where he lived with his parents — to the 18th floor and fell from the balcony. He was taken to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police said the teen was at home with his mother on the night of the incident. His father, an IT professional, was visiting his elderly parents in Rewari, officers said.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family.
