YouTube suspends SGPC’s channel for a week over video on 1984 Army action

“The action was taken over a video uploaded on October 31, 2025, in which a Sikh preacher, while speaking about Sikh warriors, made certain references linked to the events of 1984, described by the SGPC as part of Sikh history,” read the SGPC statement.

According to sources, the SGPC preacher had made comments on the assassination of Indira Gandhi.

“SGPC will share its side with YouTube. SGPC is engaging with YouTube over the issue and presenting its viewpoint. We appeal to the sangat that, till the matter is resolved and the primary channel is restored to normal functioning, devotees should connect to the daily live telecast of Gurbani Kirtan from Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib through the SGPC’s other official YouTube channel “Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee” available at youtube.com/@officialsgpc.”
