SRI Guru Granth Sahib World University at Fatehgarh Sahib on Wednesday launched a scathing attack against its suspended Vice-Chancellor Dr Jasbir Singh Ahluwalia,who had moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court challenging his suspension orders.
The university,on Wednesday,told the court that Ahluwalia was suspended in wake of complaints received from SGPC members,parents,students and even former employees who had accused the V-C of financial irregularities and passing arbitrary orders during his term.
The university added that the complaints mainly related to exploitation of female staff,manipulation of tenders and clearance of exaggerated bills of contractors,arbitrary increase in salaries his favoured employees,deployment of personal security Rs 3 lakh per month without approval and purchase of sub-standard computer systems.
Refusing an offer made by Ahluwalia,where he had proposed the he will withdraw his petition from the high court if the inquiry against him was dropped,the university termed the petition as abuse of process of law.
The petition has been filed by the petitioner as a preemptive measure,realising that all the illegalities and irregularities committed by him resulting in huge financial losses to the university have now come to light and if an inquiry is conducted in the allegations against the petitioner,he would be exposed…, the universitys reply stated.
