Punjab Deputy Chief Minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday addressed a number of rallies in favour of SAD-Sant Samaj candidates contesting the SGPC elections scheduled for September 18. However,in nearly all the rallies that he addressed at Sultanpur,Kapurthala,Nadala and Jalandhar, his rhetoric was directed against state Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh and the 2012 state assembly elections.

Stating that Amarinder should stop announcing agitations in the state to reclaim ‘a lost battle’,Sukhbir told the former CM to suggest the Congress led UPA government at Centre to take lessons from the Akali-BJP government and enact a law like Right to Service Act to curb corruption. In another rally,he said that it was better to ignore the statements of the frustrated ‘Captain’ of a sinking ship as Congress would never have any development oriented vision for Punjab. He said that the SAD-BJP government has already implemented the steps to check corruption.

He said that the relationship between the citizen and the state in Punjab was all set to change with the implementation of the Right to Services Act,which aims at empowering the ordinary citizen.
