St. Kabir School to introduce Class XI from next session

St. Kabir School in Sector 26,which presently provides education till class X,will begin with class XI from the 2014 -15 session. However, the school will offer only Commerce stream and might decide to discontinue with pre-nursery,after which the entry level class in the school will be Nursery.

Director of the school,G S Bakshi, said the school management wanted to start with this much earlier but as there was no infrastructure to accommodate one more class, the process had been delayed. This is the reason behind the school deciding to close admissions to the entry level classes for the next academic session.

“Our school works on the basis of parent-child consensus. Through this we observed that our school requires this class the most. Our children, after passing out from class X,have to struggle a lot looking for admissions in government schools and else where which is why we decided to provide class XI,” he added.

Bakshi said that as of now the school would provide only Commerce stream as the option in class XI,while adding that preference will be given to students of St. Kabir even though the admissions to class XI,starting from next April, will be an open process.

Presently, there are 110 students in class X,of which at least 50-60 are expected to opt for Commerce according to the Director.

Talking about further plans,Bakshi said,“The school might have to do away with nursery or Kindergarten (KG) classes from next year. There is no decision taken till now but there are plans to open class XII also which will be beneficial for our students.”

“We have not thought about providing for medical and non-medical streams to the students because we do not have enough infrastructure to provide all facilities,1” he said.

He also added that if the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of the school increases, the school will have more scope to increase the number of classrooms.
