Samjhauta: NIA seeks 90 days to file supplementary chargesheet

The National Investigating Agency on Monday filed a fresh petition in the special NIA court in Panchkula seeking an extension of 90 days to file a supplementary chargesheet against Kamal Chauhan,alleged bomber in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case.

The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a fresh petition in the special NIA court in Panchkula seeking an extension of 90 days to file a supplementary chargesheet against Kamal Chauhan,alleged bomber in the 2007 Samjhauta Express blast case.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court had pointed out an anomaly in the earlier petition that the investigating body had filed it without obtaining the sanction of the special public prosecutor. NIA special public prosecutor Advocate R K Handa gave his nod to file the fresh petition on Monday.
