An all-round performance by Parvesh Sharma (35 no and 2 for 20) propelled Pace Riders to an emphatic seven-wicket win over Punjabi Tigers in the last league match of the First Tricity Premier League (U-13) tournament being played at Banyan Tree School ground on Monday. After the end of the league stages,semi-finalists were spotted in the tournament. Rihalz Warriors will play Punjabi Tigers in the first semi-final while Modgill Challengers will face Pace Riders.
Pace Riders won the toss and elected to bowl first in sunny conditions. Batting first,Punjabi Tigers posted an imposing total of 144 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Yuvraj Gill was the highest scorer for the team as he played a knock of 63 runs. Gill played fluently hitting 12 boundaries during his knock while facing 57 balls. Shourya played a knock of 25 runs as Punjabi Tigers posted a total of 144 runs in the allotted 20 overs. For Pace Riders,Gangesh claimed four wickets for 32 runs while Parvesh claimed two wickets for 20 runs.
Chasing a target of 145 runs in the allotted 20 overs,Pace Riders were never into trouble as they chased the target easily. Parvesh was the star of the day for the winning side as he played an unbeaten knock of 35 runs. Parvesh smashed two boundaries during his 37-ball knock. Ujwal also remained unbeaten on 27 runs. Ujwal smashed three boundaries. Vaibhav contributed 20 runs. For the losing side,Shorya claimed two wickets for 14 runs. Parvesh Sharma was declared the man of the match.

Chandigarh team selected
The Chandigarh Sports department has selected a six-member team,including coach-cum-manager to participate in the All India Civil Services Tennis Tournament to be held at Secretariat Sports Club,Old Secretariat in Patna ( Bihar ) from January 28 to February 2. The team was selected during the selection trials conducted by the sports department.
