Under the Haryana government’s “War Against Drugs,” the Panchkula police Wednesday demolished illegal properties belonging to two drug peddlers at Pinjore.

As per the police, the ongoing crackdown against crime and drug trafficking has now expanded to target illegally acquired assets of peddlers.

The police team, led by Crime Branch-19 in-charge Mukesh Saini, along with officers from the Kalka Municipal Council, including Deepak Sukhija (ME) and JE Lalit Kumar, carried out the demolition drive at Bangala Basti, Vasudevpura, Pinjore. The illegal residential structures belonging to Krishan Kumar and Ram Kumar were razed to the ground using bulldozers.

DCP (Crime) Manpreet Singh Sudan said that both accused were involved in ganja (cannabis) smuggling.

The police had earlier arrested Ram Kumar with 1.922 kg ganja, and a case was registered at the Pinjore police station. In a separate case, Krishan Kumar was caught with 20.460 kg ganja, registered at the Kalka police station.

Panchkula Police Commissioner Sibash Kabiraj said that the Panchkula police is playing a leading role in realising the state government’s vision of a drug-free Haryana. He added, “We are identifying drug peddlers who have amassed illegal wealth to expand their networks. Such assets are being confiscated and demolished as per legal procedures to send a strong message — no one involved in the drug trade will be spared.”

The official said this is not just an enforcement action but a bold step towards building a cleaner, safer, and drug-free society.
