Two days after a man identified as Gurwinder Singh alias Kinda, 20, was shot dead in Manki village of Samrala in Ludhiana district under the Khanna Police’s jurisdiction, a social media post purportedly posted from the handle of gangster Anmol Bishnoi surfaced Wednesday.

In the post, the two fugitives, Aarzoo Bishnoi and Hari Boxer, purportedly took the “responsibility” for the killing.

Anmol, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a key operative of the gang, is currently lodged in a jail in the United States (US) with Indian authorities making efforts for his extradition. Anmol, 25, was arrested by US immigration authorities in November 2024 for allegedly travelling with fake documents.

The Khanna Police has now named gangster Ravi Rajgarh, a key aide of Anmol, as an accused in the Samrala killing.

Speaking to The Indian Express, Satinder Singh, DIG, Ludhiana range, said: “We will be bringing Ravi Rajgarh on production warrant from Bathinda jail for questioning. We have already arrested eleven suspects in the case.”

On the purported social media message posted from the handle named “Anmol Bishnoi”, the DIG said: “It is probably an attempt to mislead the investigation but we are verifying. We had already identified the four main accused in the case hours after the incident. They were having an old rivalry with the deceased. They are now trying to mislead the investigation by posting such claims in name of Anmol Bishnoi but things will be clearer only after Ravi Rajgarh’s interrogation. Anmol Bishnoi is in the custody of the US authorities.”

Asked if Anmol and Lawrence Bishnoi have also been booked, DIG said: “The probe is still ongoing.”

Gurwinder Singh alias Kinda, 20, was shot dead at Manki village late on Monday where he was present with his two friends- Dharamveer and Lovepreet. Four masked assailants on two bikes shot him dead while his friend Dharamveer got injured, said police.

The police identified four main suspects as Sandeep Singh of Dayalpura village, Teji of Chak Sarai village, Karan of Madpur and Simran alias Simmi of Balian village. However, none of them have been arrested yet while their eleven aides have been arrested, said police.

Sub-inspector Pavittar Singh, SHO, Samrala police station said that both groups were indulged in old rivalries and held grudges against each other. “Members of both groups are history-sheeters and have several previous FIRs registered against them,” he said.

Who is Ravi Rajgarh?

A key operative of Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and a native of Khanna’s Rajgarh village, Ravi Rajgarh is currently lodged in Bathinda jail. He had allegedly helped Bishnoi’s aides, including his brother Anmol Bishnoi, flee India by arranging fake passports for them. He had allegedly given Rs 25 lakh to Ludhiana transporter Baldev Chaudhary — arrested in connection with providing weapons to shooters involved in the murder of singer-politician Sidhu Moose Wala — to send Anmol to Dubai.
