Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Monday said during the past eight and a half years, the BJP-led government in the state, following the motto of ‘Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek’, has not only launched several public welfare schemes, but also ensured their meticulous implementation.
“Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek is not just a slogan for me, it is my resolution,” said Khattar.
The CM, who is on a three-day visit to Kurukshetra, was interacting with residents of Jhansa and Nalvi villages in district as part of his ‘Jan Samvad’ programme.
“Compared to the previous government (in the state), our government’s tenure will always have an upper hand in terms of both development works and providing state-of-the-art health facilities to citizens,” Khattar said at Jhansa.
Printing and Stationery Minister Sandeep Singh, who is the BJP MLA from Pehowa, was also present at the programme.
“Our government has ensured direct benefits to the actual beneficiaries, apart from ensuring infrastructural development and reach of public welfare schemes to beneficiaries at their doorsteps,” Khattar said, while directing the officers concerned to appoint a radiographer along with ensuring the availability of health equipment in the village Primary Health Centre to be procured at an amount of Rs 8 lakh.
At Nalvi village, Khattar approved Rs 2 crore for 16 development works to be executed in the village.
With the implementation of the ‘Parivar Pehchan Patra’ (family id) scheme, 12.5 lakh new BPL cards have been made in the state, he said at Nalvi. “We don’t believe in offering freebies, rather we aim to make citizens self-reliant. For this several programmes have been run by the government to increase the income of ‘antyodaya’ families. Increasing the income of all such families certainly increases the financial condition of the entire family,” said the chief minister.
Enroute to Nalvi, Khattar stopped his convoy and interacted with a group of farmers cultivating sunflowers. He told them that the state government procures sunflower crop at the minimum support price.
Khattar visited the Government High School in Tangaur village and took stock of the arrangements in the school. He also inquired about the facilities available for children and interacted with them.
At Jhansa village, Chief Minister Khattar said that in 2014, there were only 750 MBBS seats in Haryana and this has now increased to 1,850. The government is focusing on rural development and works are being done in a transparent manner through e-tendering, he said.
Khattar also laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs 6.38 crore for Phase-2 of the new grain market in Jhansa.
Khattar started the ‘Jan Samvad’ programme in Rohtak district last year and after that, the programme was organised in Sirsa, Sonipat, Karnal, Fatehabad, Bhiwani and Palwal districts.
Haryana Cabinet meeting shall be held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at 4:00 pm. Several important agendas, which are yet to be finalised, are expected to be taken up during the upcoming Cabinet meeting.
