To commemorate the 34 glorious years of Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, the 34th Annual Day Function of the institute was celebrated with great enthusiasm. Ajay Chagti, Secretary, Medical Education and Research, UT, Chandigarh, was the chief guest.
He awarded the meritorious students of the institute and said that with over 1,255 beds, state-of-the-art facilities, a wide array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and superspecialty courses and a consistently growing reputation, the GMCH has emerged as a beacon of knowledge, service and integrity.
Chagti expressed his satisfaction that GMCH-Chandigarh has been ranked 14th nationally and second in the state by the Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF). He said that the GMCH, Chandigarh, is more than just a college or a hospital; it is a symbol of public trust, a centre of academic brilliance and a pillar of our healthcare system. This was followed by a grand cultural programme, which was performed by the students of the institute. Prof G P Thami, Director Principal, highlighted various achievements of the institute and talked about plans for upgrading the institute and improving patient care.
