The Jalandhar police have arrested four minor boys — two of them aged 17 years and the other two 14 — in connection with a number of robbery cases. The four are residents of Abadpura locality of the city.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (West) R S Sandhu said: “Investigations revealed that the four arrested boys had committed as many as 21 robberies and their modus operandi in all these cases was the same — they would rob their targets, mostly migrant labourers,by frightening them with sharp weapons at night and would speed away on their motorcycles.”

Sandhu said these robbers, all of them from lower middle class families, would rob their victims of a few hundred rupees, besides valuables and mobiles, and would sell them off to spend the money on liquor.

He said a hardened criminal,Sandeep of Kot Ramdass, had brought them into the world of crime.
