While rainfall activity associated with current western disturbance is most likely to reduce during next 12 hours thereafter mainly dry weather very likely to prevail over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh for the next 5 days.
However dense to very dense fog warning has been given by Indian Metrological Department(IMD) at few places on 28th and 29th and dense fog at isolated places on 30th over Punjab and Haryana, said weather bulletin released by IMD Chandigarh on Saturday evening.
The bulletin further adds that cold day conditions prevailed on 28th over Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh and it is further likely to prevail on 29 December 2024 to 3 January 2025 over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
In the next 48 hours, there will be 03-05°C fall in minimum temperatures and no large change in minimum temperature thereafter in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh, the bulletin mentioned.
Meanwhile, it rained in the region on Thursday, Friday and in some parts on Saturday as well which dropped the minimum and maximum temperatures. From 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Saturday..it rained rhe maximum ..11 mm in Yamunagar in Haryana while 8 mm in Pathankot city in Punjab. It rained 4.4 mm in Chandigarh City and 4 mm in Chandigarh Airport area on Saturday while it rained 3.5 mm in Rupnagar in Punjab and 3 mm towards Bhakra dam area in the same district.
The maximum temperature in Punjab was 18.6 degrees celsius in Bathinda on Saturday and even the minimum temperature on Saturday morning was 5.8 degrees celsius recorded in the same city. The maximum temperature in Haryana was 17.4 degrees celsius in Sirsa and minimum temperature was 10.5 degrees celsius in Mahendragarh in Haryana.
