Cong gears up for 2026 civic body polls, to launch ‘booth to ballot’ campaign

The detailed review and strategy session focused on booth-level empowerment, which forms the foundation of any successful electoral campaign.

Both leaders emphasised that each booth in Chandigarh will soon have a five-member booth committee along with a booth-level assistant responsible for coordinating activities, mobilising voters, and ensuring effective communication between the party and local residents.

During the meeting, Lucky highlighted the importance of meticulous groundwork and the need for every Congress worker to connect personally with voters in their respective areas. He said that the Congress’s strength lies in its committed workers at the grassroots and that the party is determined to ensure that every booth becomes a stronghold of the Congress ideology and a center of people’s trust.

Tewari, addressing the coordinators, emphasised organisational discipline and data-driven planning for the upcoming polls. He said that the Congress is not just preparing for an election but for a movement to restore Chandigarh’s dignity, development, and democratic spirit. He added that the BJP’s misgovernance and arrogance have alienated the citizens and that it is the Congress party that will bring back transparent, accountable governance.

The meeting also included detailed discussions on ward-wise voter outreach, social media coordination, door-to-door campaigns, and the identification of key local issues. Both leaders took feedback from each ward coordinator and assigned specific responsibilities to ensure timely implementation of organisational tasks.

The Congress will soon launch a “booth to ballot” campaign aimed at connecting every household with the Congress message and highlighting the failures of the current BJP-led administration in Chandigarh.
