Tanker hits bike,one dead,two injured
Panchkula: A speeding water tanker rammed a motorcycle from behind around 7 pm on Thursday near Ramgarh leaving two Barwala residents injured and claiming the life of a 27-year-old. The three were on the same motorcycle. While the driver of the tanker remains at large,a case has been registered with the Chandi Mandir Police Station for rash driving and culpable homicide under Sections 279 and 304 of the Indian Penal Code. Though the vehicle has been impounded,police is yet to nab the owner and the driver. Naresh Kumar,27,who was sitting behind and was killed,worked at a private firm died on the spot his brother-in-law,a middle aged Sushil Kumar and nephew Neeraj,a 19-year-old B.Com student suffered minor injuries.
Police register burglary case
Mohali: Mohali police on Friday registered a case of burglary after a Phase 11 resident ,who returned to his house after several days,complained that somebody had broken into his house. In his absence,his uncle had been living in the house but had gone out of station for some work. Police are yet to determine the exact extent of the theft. A case has been registered against unknown person/persons under Sections 457 and 380 of the IPC.
Rs 1 lakh reward for info on thieves
Panchkula: In a robbery case where Rs 16 lakh was looted on October 3 from Amravati,Panchkula the Haryana DGP Shrinivas Vashisht announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for providing information about the criminals. The reward has been announced as the clues with the police point to certain criminals but with them remaining at large there are apprehensions of the striking again.
