Woman dies after being hit by car in Gandhinagar, 30-year-old man arrested

He was arrested based on the FIR filed on the complaint of Chandkheda resident Ashokkumar Mangaldas Panchal, the father of deceased Hina.

According to the FIR, Panchal was working at his factory when he received a call from an unknown person around 6 pm on Tuesday. The caller told him that his daughter had met with an accident near Tapovan circle on the road towards Zundal in Gandhinagar

Panchal said he rushed to the SMS Hospital in Chandkheda where Hina was later taken in an ambulance. The doctor on duty told Panchal that Hina had succumbed to grievous injuries to her head.
According to the FIR, Panchal, before going to Adalaj police station, visited the site of the accident and saw a car along with his daughter’s damaged two-wheeler.

Earlier, police had booked unknown persons under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 281 (rash driving), 106 (causing death by negligence), and 125(a) and (b), pertaining to endangering life or personal safety of others. The person was also booked under several sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
