As part of the ongoing celebrations of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Ahmedabad city unit of the BJP will organise Ekta March (Unity March) in every Assembly constituency of the city between November 9 and 22.
H S Patel, Lok Sabha MP from Ahmedabad East constituency, made the announcement at a press conference on Tuesday. Ahmedabad city unit president of BJP Prerak Shah, Rajya Sabha MP Narhari Amin and Naranpura MLA and general secretary of the party’s city unit Jitubhai Patel were also present.
A statement issued by the BJP said the march would cover a distance of 5 to 8 km in each constituency. The first ‘ekta march’ in Ahmedabad city will be organised on November 9 in the Nikol area , from where state party president Jagdish Vishwakarma has been elected to the Gujarat Assembly, it said.
The march is also aimed at spreading the message of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’. Also, eminent personalities in each constituency, such as doctors, artists and teachers, would be felicitated, said the statement.
