‘Tired of life’,three of a family commit suicide

“Bodies of Haresh Tanti (40),his wife Kiran (35) and only child Jasmin (13) were found hanging from the ceiling hooks this morning. While the couple used plastic ropes,the boy used a light blanked to hang themselves,” said an officer. Police said that Haresh’s father,Tulsi,who lives on the ground floor of their single storey residence at Alka Society in Mavdi,found them hanging when he went upstairs to check why his grandson was not yet ready for school.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Haresh was doing well in his business of selling construction material and had booked air tickets for the family for diwali vacation in Manali.

Haresh’s father and three brothers,who stay nearby,told police that he always looked fit and fine,and the couple had taken their son out for dinner the previous night.

Police said the family appeared to have offered prayer to Lord Krishna and Radha,their parents and deceased nephew before hanging themselves.

“We found their photos at the doorstep of bedroom,which suggests they had offered prayers,” said an officer.
