In a video message, the DGP said that during a meeting with senior officers, he had emphasised on four verticals – law and order, women safety, traffic management, and police response and behaviour.
On the law and order situation, Sahay said that apart from local police, a total of 16 Companies of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) had been deployed across the state along with two companies of the State Action Force – one each at Ahmedabad and Surat.
“There will be maximum patrolling and police presence in sensitive areas. Other confidence building measures will be held to maintain peace during the festivities,” said Sahay.
Regarding traffic management, he said that deployment and planning has been carried out across the state with special attention to the four major cities – Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara and Surat.
Regarding police response and behaviour, Sahay said that all arrangements have been made at control rooms across the state and senior officers posted there to ensure quick response to calls.

A total of 49 SHE teams and 123 PCR vans will also be deployed across Ahmedabad. There will be surprise checks at hotels and farmhouses and police patrolling will be conducted at all isolated areas.
SHE teams in plain clothes will be deployed at garba venues to ensure safety of women, the city police said.
A statement from the Ahmedabad City Police on Monday said that a notification for noise pollution control is in effect in the city and all microphones and speakers should be switched off by 12 am.
Police officers held meetings with garba organisers in the city and instructed them to make appropriate arrangements for the participants. Major garba venues will have watch towers at all corners and CCTV cameras. Besides, medical facilities will be arranged at all venues.
Vehicles without registration plates and dark films will be penalised and steps will be taken to avoid bike and car racing.
