Gujarat: Rape convict commits ‘suicide’

Rakesh Vasava was admitted to the hospital on May 5 and in the wee hours of Sunday, he allegedly hanged himself from the bathroom pipe of the hospital.

A rape convict serving life imprisonment in the Vadodara Central Jail allegedly committed suicide on Sunday while undergoing treatment for tuberculosis at SSG hospital here.

Rakesh Vasava was admitted to the hospital on May 5 and in the wee hours of Sunday, he allegedly hanged himself from the bathroom pipe of the hospital.

The body has been autopsy, while police said reason for the extreme step was yet to be ascertained. ENS
