Gambling den busted,24 arrested

The city police on Friday busted a gambling den in ravines of Vishwamitri river and arrested 24 persons with valuables worth more than Rs 6 lakh.

The city police on Friday busted a gambling den in ravines of Vishwamitri river and arrested 24 persons with valuables worth more than Rs 6 lakh. Following a tip-off,the Special Operations Group and Special Branch of city police raided the den and caught the 24 gambling. Four others escaped, said SOG inspector Ramesh Patel. Police seized Rs 1.52 lakh cash,a car,three rickshaws,five two-wheelers and 19 mobile phones. The arrested were booked under the Gambling Act.
