Till around 10.30 pm on Tuesday, DNA samples of 177 out of the 241 deceased were matched, and their families contacted, Gujarat Minister of state for home Harsh Sanghavi said in a post on X.

Earlier in a post on X Gujarat minister of health and family welfare Rushikesh Patel said that the bodies of 133 deceased had been handed over to their families so far, and that the remaining would be released soon. A majority of them were from Ahmedabad, followed by Vadodara.
