Sujay Vikhe Patil is a political leader from Maharastra and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is the incumbent Member of the Parliament from Maharastra’s Ahmednagar Lok Sabha constituency. He was born on November 24, 1982, and is the son of the seven-time undefeated MLA of Shirdi Vidhan Sabha, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.
He is also the grandson of Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, a distinguished politician who has served as a seven-time member of parliament, a former union minister of state for finance, and a union cabinet minister for heavy industries in the Indian government.
He started his political career in 2019 when he contested and won the Lok Sabha elections from the Ahmednagar constituency. He defeated his closest opponent from the Nationalist Congress Party by a landslide margin of 281526 votes.
He found himself surrounded by controversy when his father and a senior Congress leader, Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, claimed that Rahul Gandhi asked Sujay to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha Election on NCP’s ticket instead of BJP. However, his stand in BJP was not damaged after the claims.
