Her filmography includes critically acclaimed roles in Fire (1996), Earth (1998), and Bawandar (2000), showcasing her range and commitment to meaningful cinema. Beyond acting, Das's directorial ventures have garnered international recognition. Her debut, Firaaq (2008), premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and won over 20 awards, establishing her as a significant voice in Indian filmmaking. Manto (2018), a biographical film on the renowned writer Sadat Hasan Manto, further solidified her directorial prowess, screening at the Cannes Film Festival. Das's contributions extend beyond the screen. Her 2019 Public Service Announcement, "India's Got Colour," addressed the pervasive issue of colourism.
