Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sanjay Raut was in his element as he held forth at Saswad rally for Supriya Sule, candidate of NCP (SP) from Baramati constituency. Raut said BJP has been using the language of finishing of Opposition leaders and political parties.
“They spoke of politically finishing of Sharad Pawar, but did not succeed. They tried to finish off Uddhav Thackery, but failed. They even tried their trick with Balasheb Thackeray, but came a cropper.; Raut said BJP has also been talking of finishing off Congress. “They said they want to make Congress-mukt Bharat but they have ended making Congress-yukt BJP,” he said.
Opp candidate seeks Ajit Pawar’s blessings
Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Sanjog Waghere from Maval seat came to face to face at a marriage ceremony of Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode in Pimpri-Chinchwad Saturday.
Both of them did not turn their face away. Instead both smiled at each other. In fact, Waghere touched the feet of Pawar to seek his blessings for his success in the Lok Sabha elections, raising several eyebrows. Waghere, a former mayor of Pimpri-Chinchwad, was in NCP for years.
However, on the eve of Lok Sabha elections, he quit NCP and joined hands with Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray. “I kept the Maharashtra’s political culture of fighting elections in a cordial atmosphere in tact. There was nothing wrong in seeking Ajit Pawar’s blessings,” he said.
Shiv Sangram to remain neutral
The Shiv Sangram Party which was looking to contest from the Beed seat has decided to remain neutral in this election. ‘
‘Sometimes it is important to remain neutral in politics. It is important to take right decision at the right time. The Shiv Sangram Party will not support Maha Vikas Aghadi or Mahayuti. We will remain neutral. We will hold a separate meeting for Assembly elections and then decide,” said Jyoti Mete of Shiv Sangram Party.
Jyoti Mete, wife of late Vinayak Mete who heads the Shiv Sangram, was eyeing to contest Beed seat on an NCP (S-P) ticket but was denied the nomination.
