
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao and a few other party members had a narrow escape as the campaign vehicle they were travelling in lost control during a road show at Armoor in the Nizamabad district Thursday.
Rao and the others, who were standing on the vehicle, plunged forward as the railing of the vehicle collapsed. Luckily, the vehicle was brought to a halt immediately.
The minister’s team informed that he was safe and proceeded to participate in the road show in Kodangal. “There is no need to worry about his health,” a communication said.
Earlier in the day, Rao filed his nomination papers to fight the upcoming Assembly election from the Sircilla constituency. KTR won the seat in 2009, 2010, 2014 and 2018. It was after filing the nomination papers that the minister had left for the Armoor road show.
Armoor is represented by BRS leader A Jeevan Reddy. Reddy had won the seat in 2014 and in 2018.
Telangana is slated to go to polls on November 30.
