Guna Election Results 2024: In a decisive victory, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia has won the Scindia family’s bastion, the Guna Lok Sabha seat by a massive margin of 5,40,929 votes, thereby preserving his long-standing influence and solidifying the BJP’s hold on the region.
Scindia secured a significant lead throughout the day and ultimately won the seat with 9,23,302 votes, defeating his nearest rival from Congress Rao Yadavendra Singh Yadav, securing 3,82,373 votes.
One of the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, comprising the eight Vidhan Sabha constituencies, went into polling on May 7, 2024, for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Guna is historically a stronghold of the Scindia family, as Vijaya Raje Scindia, Madhavrao Scindia, and Jyotiraditya Scindia have all seen electoral success here. However, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Dr. Krishna Pal Singh from the BJP won the seat by a margin.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP fielded Jyotiraditya Scindia as their Lok Sabha candidate, who previously won four times from this seat on Congress’s ticket. On the other hand, Congress has fielded Rao Yadavendra Singh Yadav, who joined Congress after leaving the BJP in 2023.
The voter turnout in the 2024 general elections in Guna was 72.43%, slightly higher than the 70.02% recorded in the 2019 elections. The exit polls for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in the Guna constituency predict a strong performance for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia. PMARQ predicted a 28-seat win for the BJP and 1 for Congress, with candidate Rao Yadvendra Singh expected to trail behind.
As both the BJP and the INC are vying for the seat in the Guna Lok Sabha constituency, the elections are expected to be a closely watched contest, with the ECI officially announcing the results on Tuesday, June 4. The outcome of this election could have significant implications for the political landscape in Madhya Pradesh and at the national level.
