US President Donald Trump’s Turnberry golf resort in Scotland has been vandalised with pro-Palestinian graffiti, with activist group Palestine Action claiming responsibility for the act.
Images shared by local media on Saturday showed red paint scrawled across the resort’s walls with slogans such as “Free Gaza” and “Free Palestine,” along with insults directed at Trump. One of the greens was also defaced with the phrase “Gaza is not for sale,” and holes were dug up across the course.
Palestine Action took credit for the vandalism, posting on X: “Whilst Trump attempts to treat Gaza as his property, he should know his own property is within reach.”

The attack follows Trump’s controversial remarks after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, last month. Trump suggested that the US should take over Gaza, resettle its more than two million Palestinian residents, and transform the region into the “Riviera of the Middle East.” Netanyahu responded by saying the idea was “worth paying attention to.”
Trump has also previously proposed that neighbouring nations take in displaced Palestinians from Gaza—an idea that was firmly rejected by Arab states. He later shared an AI-generated video depicting what Gaza might look like under his vision.
Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the incident at Turnberry, which is widely regarded as one of the world’s top five golf courses.
“Around 4:40 am on Saturday, 8 March 2025, we received a report of damage to the golf course and a premises on Maidens Road, Turnberry,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said. “Enquiries are ongoing.”
Separately on Saturday, a man waving a Palestinian flag scaled Big Ben at London’s Palace of Westminster in another high-profile act of protest.
