Five-time champions Mumbai Indians will take on three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai on Monday. While the hosts are yet to get off the mark in this season’s IPL, the defending champions have won their previous encounter against the Rajasthan Royals. Mumbai have a 23-11 head to head record against the Kolkata franchise but in recent years, KKR have clawed back the advantage.
Against Gujarat Titans, Hardik Pandya has returned to the side for Mumbai as skipper. However, that did not change the result from which they had against the Chennai Super Kings. With questions still hanging over Jasprit Bumrah Satyanarayana Raju will likely get another opportunity. And if Vignesh Puthur gets back into the side instead of Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman, Will Jacks will take the overseas quota.

The only concern for KKR is the new ball bowlers. Both Vaibhav Arora and Spencer Johnson have been quite expensive. Apart from that the batting has looked in decent touch and the tweakers Varun Chakarvarthy and Sunil Narine looked in rhythm.
