In every season where they have managed to string together at least five consecutive wins, MI have either made the finals or the Playoffs.
Even as they have racked up 14 points in 11 matches, MI still find themselves uncertain of a spot in the Playoffs and a big challenge awaits on Tuesday with an in-form Gujarat Titans entering the Wankhede Stadium. With both teams standing neck-and-neck in the Playoffs race, here’s what MI will have to do qualify for the IPL 2025 Playoffs.
With the IPL 2025 Playoffs cut-off points yet to be ascertained, owing to the stiff competition and wavering results, teams will need at least 18 points to qualify, let alone make the top 2. Despite their superb form, MI are still two wins out from that mark and will need to make the immediate matches count.
A positive for MI will be that they will play two of their remaining games at home against Gujarat and Delhi Capitals. Wins in two games could most likely seal the deal for MI, particularly all of their fixtures up ahead are lined up against direct rivals in the Playoffs race.

A top-of-the-table clash against Gujarat could probably seal the firm front-runner for the top spot in the points table. On a six-match winning spree, MI can extend their winning run to nine with wins in their remaining games and shore up to as high as 20 points. To confirm qualification, MI will need to win at least two games.
