West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher apprehended for carrying ammunition

The cricketer was practicing with Windward Islands team and the incident occurred when he was leaving the island.

West Indies cricketer Andre Fletcher landed himself in trouble when he was arrested at the Douglas Charles airport in Dominica for carrying ammunition, 50 rounds to be precise, reported the Dominica News Online. (DNO)

The 27-year-old cricketer was practicing with Windward Islands team and the incident occurred when he was leaving the island.

The team manager acknowledged his arrest and pledged full support to him.

“I will support him, I will not abandon him … that is the job of a manager,” he was quoted by the website.

Fletcher was part of the West Indies squad that toured South Africa earlier this year and also played a T20I.

Despite making his debut for West Indies in 2008, Fletcher manage to play 15 ODIs and 22 T20I so far.
