Virat Kohli on Saturday smashed a match-winning hundred against Rising Pune Supergiants to anchor his RCB team to victory over Pune by 7 wickets in Bangalore. This was Virat’s second hundred in this IPL season and also the second in the shortest format. (Fixtures | Squads)
Kohli has played 21 T20 matches in 2016 where the swashbuckling batsman has scored 1166 runs at a healthy average of 106.
The Indian vice-captain has hit two tons and eleven half centuries during the course.
While on course of scoring second IPL hundred of the season, RCB skipper surpassed one of Sachin Tendulkar’s records of scoring more than 500 runs thrice as a captain. Gautam Gambhir and David Warner are the two other batsmen to have crossed the 500-run mark as captains.
Virat also achieved the rare feat of scoring two hundreds in one IPL edition.
