Virat Kohli, during his 113-run knock against KXIP on Wednesday, extended his lead over Chris Gayle’s 733-run mark to create a new record of most runs in a single season.

Gayle scored 733 runs for RCB in 15 matches during the 2012 edition and Kohli has moved to 865 in the ongoing edition from only 13 games.

This is not the first record the RCB skipper has smashed this season. With four tons, he entered record books by becoming the only player in tournament’s history to hit four tons in a single season.
