CPL 2020, SKP vs BT Highlights: Evin Lewis’ 89 helps Patriots secure much-needed win

First he removes Denesh Ramdin and now he sends Evin Lewis back in the dugout. Kyle Mayers has got his second wicket of the game as Evin Lewis departs after scoring a brilliant 89 from 60 deliveries. SKP: 132/4 (18.3 overs) 

Kyle Mayers breaks the 78-run stand between Denesh Ramdin and Evin Lewis as the former departs after scoring 20 off 32 balls. A short and slow delivery, and Ramdin goes deep inside the crease and plays it straight towards the over at deep mid-wicket's hands. SKP: 121/3 (17 overs)   

A short of a length delivery by Nyeem Young, right in the zone of Evin Lewis, who connects it well. However, Mitchell Santner does an exceptional work at deep, saving five run for his side. SKP: 106/2 (15 overs)  

Tough chance for R Reifer but he's got to make these count. It was a full length delivery with very little pace and Evin Lewis whacks a little wide of the bowler. Dives to his right but fails to keep it in hand. SKP: 95/2 (13 overs) 

Evin Lewis completes his half-century after smashing Hayden Walsh for three sixes in a row. A total of 20 runs come from the over as Patriots reach 71/2 after nine overs. SKP: 71/2 (9 overs) 

Tridents skipper Jason Holder gets his first wicket of the match. A good length delivery pitched just wide of the off stump and Joshua Da Silva edges it straight to Shai Hope. SKP: 41/2 (5.2 overs)  

Rashid Khan is introduced into the attack and he strikes in his very first delivery. A slower delivery with some flight and Chris Lynn swings his bat but fails to make any connection. Easy decision for the umpire as Lynn returns after scoring 16 from 11 deliveries. SKP: 34/1 (4.1 overs)  

Plenty happening in the middle, a ball after there's a huge appeal for LBW against Chris Lynn, he smashes Mitchell Santner for a maximum. The opening pair have added 15/0 on the board. SKP: 15/0 (2 overs) 

Chris Lynn and Evin Lewis have started the chase for Patriots. Jason Holder will start the attack for Tridents. 

A wicket and six runs coming off the final over of the Tridents inning bowled by Imran Khan. Tridents finish with 151/7 on the board, something that looked very bleak at one stage of the game. Can Tridents put up a fight with the bowl? BT: 151/7 (20 overs) 

Corey Anderson departs but the job assigned to him has been completed. A widish fulltoss by Rayad Emrit and Anderson plays it straight to Shoail Tanvir at extra cover. One over remain as Tridents inch close to 150. BT: 145/6 (19 overs) 

Alzarri Joseph brings an end to a dangerous partnership between Ashley Nurse and Corey Anderson. The pair adds 56 from 29 balls, as Nurse departs after scoring 25 from 17 balls. Clever delivery by Joseph, taking some pace off the ball as the batsman goes for another biggy. However, it fails to clear the ropes as Evin Lewis completes a superb catch. BT: 136/5 (18 overs)  

Great, great over from Tridents perspective as 21 runs come off the last over bowled by Shoail Tanvir. It started with Ashley Nurse and Corey Anderson smash two sixes in the first three deliveries and then Nurse ends it with another boundary towards extra cover. BT: 127/4 (17 overs) 

It's end of the 15th over and Tridents are yet to edge-past the 100-run mark. All eyes will now be on Corey Anderson, who is batting on 9 from 9 deliveries. BT: 93/4 (15 overs) 

A wild slash from Kyle Mayers and it cost him his wicket. He comes out of the crease and plays a rash drive but ends up edging the ball to Denesh Ramdin. He departs after scoring 22 from 17 balls. 

Meanwhile, Tanvir has struck again but this time it's comes in the form of a run-out. Corey Ander smashes the ball down the ground and it tips Tanvir, on his followthrough, and hits the stumps. The bails fall and Tridents skipper Jason Holder is found outside the crease. Very unlucly for both Holder and his team. BT: 81/4 (13 overs) 

That will be an end to some fine bowling by Jon-Russ Jaggesar, must be a sigh of relief for Tridents. The spinner finishes his four-over quota with 17/2. BT: 75/2 (12 overs)  

Jon-Russ Jaggesar strikes again and this time it is the important wicket of Shai Hope. A pitched up delivery and Hope tries to clear the midwicket ropes, connects it well but not enough power as the player in the deep takes a simple catch. BT: 59/2 (10 overs)

A ball after Shai Hope survived a close LBW call, Jon-Russ Jaggesar gives Patriots the breakthrough as he traps Jhonson Charles LBW on 24. It was almost like a carrom ball and Charles failed to connect it while trying to play it on the on side. BT: 52/1 (8 overs)   

Another great over for the Patriots as two runs come from it. Despite connecting the ball well Charles and Hope are struggling to find the gaps. BT: 8/0 (2 overs)

Tanvir maintains a tight line in the first over, giving away only six runs. Alzarri Joseph will start the attack from the other end. BT: 6/0 (1 over)  

The opening pair of Jhonson Charles and Windies wicketkeeper-batsman Shai Open are out in the middle to kick-off the proceedings. Shoail Tanvir will be starting for Patriots. Here we go!
