The highlight, probably, remained India's women's table tennis team winning their first CWG gold medal.

Tejinder Pal Singh finishes a disappointing eight in the men's shot put final. His best throw of 19.42 came in his third attempt, but it wasn't enough to get him on to the podium. Canada's Tim Nedow came up with his season best throw of 20.91 to take the bronze.
It is end of the road for India's Gurdeep Singh as he finished fourth in the men's +105kg weightlifting. You cannot blame him either. New Zealand's David Litti, who won gold, broke the Commonwealth Games record with a total lift of 403kg. Gurdeep was denied the third spot with Pakistan's Muhammad Butt creating a new Junior Commonwealth Record for the bronze.
In the men's shot put final, India's Tejinder Pal Singh is currently languishing in ninth place. In two attempts, he has so far managed to record just 18.84m -- his best throw yet.
Some good news from the track and field. India's Muhammed Anas Yahiya qualifies for the final in the men's 400m race. He finished first in the semifinal, heat 3, ahead of Jamaica's Rusheen Mcdonald. He clocked 45.44.

Jitu Rai says he believed unflinchingly, unquestionably in his ability to stage a comeback and win the men's 10m air pistol gold after a rather average qualifying outing in the 21st Commonwealth Games here today. "Frankly speaking, my qualification score was not very good, but I had 100 percent faith in my ability that I can do it, because I have done well in the finals and won many medals in the past. My belief was unflinching," the unassuming Rai said.

Heartbreak for New Zealand's transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard. She was leading in the women's +90kg lineup before going into the clean and jerk event. Her lift of 120kg in her first attempt was the highest in the Snatch event. Hubbard, however, attempted an ambitious 132kg in her third and final attempt and ended up injuring herself in the process. She will now not compete in the clean and jerk event. Meanwhile, India's Purnima Pandey successfully lifted 115kg in the clean and jerk event to temporarily take her to the top of the standings.

And we are off in the women's 90kg weightlifting (clean & jerk), India's Lalchhanhimi has two successful lifts to her credit: 105kg and 109kg. She will be attempting 109kg in her third and final attempt. Her current total lift of 194kg, however, will not be enough for even a top-five finish. UPDATE: Lalcchanhimi successfully lifts 109kg in her last attempt. This takes her total to 198kg.

Barring India's Purnima Pandey and Mauritius Shalinee Valaydon, the remaining six weightlifters in the 90 category has lifts of 100kg or above. New Zealand's Laurel Hubbard is on top after lifting 120kg. While Pandey makes up the bottom of the list with a 94kg lift in Snatch event. And in the 90kg category, India's Lalchhanhimi finished last in the snatch event with a lift of 85kg. She failed to lift 89kg in her remanining two attempts.
She does it! In her third and final attempt in the women's +90kg weightlifting, India's Purnima Pandey lifted 94kg in Snatch. But it wasn't enough to make the top three cut. She is currently fourth in the standings.
