MUMBAI, MAR 11: The components of the 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex) have been revised with effect from April 10, 2000, the exchange said in a statement on Saturday.

Pharmaceutical firm Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd, Reliance Petroleum (RPL)software firm Satyam Computer Services and media and television firm Zee Telefilms have been included in the 30-share benchmark index, the statement said.

Indian Hotels, Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), Tata Chemicals and Tata Power will be removed from the index, it said. High liquidity coupled with huge trading volumes and a wide investor base prompted the committee to include the four scrips in the bell-weather index. The last time the index was recast, was in early 1999, when Infosys Technologies became part of Sensex.
