Four months after DSP Ziaul Haque was murdered at Kunda in Pratapgarh district,a dispute has broken out between his widow and parents over money and property.
Parveen Azad,who is serving as officer on special duty,UP Police,has filed a case in Deorias civil court against her in-laws,Shamshul Haque and Azra Khatoon,seeking transfer of her share in his movable and immovable property in her name. The case was filed on July 11 and the court has fixed July 26 for the hearing.
DSPs father Shamshul Haque said,Ziaul had taken two LIC policies in 2009 and had made his parents nominees. As all formalities were completed,the LIC sent a letter to collect Rs 9 lakh and Rs 3.20 lakh on June 27 due against the two policies
However,an LIC official informed him that Parveen had,on June 25,filed an objection with the LIC,claiming that she was the claimant of the insurance money against the two policies as she was the wife of the policy holder.
Taking cognizance of the objection,the LIC asked her to prove herself a nominee and claimant for the policies and submit authentic document in this regard within 45 days.
In an attempt to procure a legal document to claim herself a nominee of Ziaul,Parveen filed a case in the court on July 11 seeking the courts intervention to get her share in the property as being the widow of my son, said Shamshul Haque.
He has received the courts notice to appear on July 26. He said Parveen could not claim the two policies as she got married to his son in 2012 while the policies were taken in 2009.
After attending the chaliswa (a ritual after 40 days of death),Parveen left Zuafar Tola and settled in Lucknow. She is posted as Officer on Special Duty and drawing a salary equivalent to her husband. She is getting the same amount as pension following a government order. She never contacted or enquired about us, he alleged.
Parveen had only come to their house the day she filed the case,Shamshul Haque said. Despite several efforts,Parveen could not be
contacted.
