Jeera futures rises as demand picks up,low stocks

Jeera prices rose by Rs 183 or 1.43 per cent to Rs 13,000 per quintal in futures trade today on pick up in demand in spot markets against restricted arrivals.

Jeera prices rose by Rs 183 or 1.43 per cent to Rs 13,000 per quintal in futures trade today on pick up in demand in spot markets against restricted arrivals.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange (NCDEX),jeera July contract rose Rs 183,or 1.43 per cent to Rs 13,000 per quintal,with an open interest of 4884 lots.

The spice for delivery in May contract also moved up by Rs 172 or 1.39 per cent to Rs 12,570 per quintal in 8,088 lots.

Market experts said,pick up in demand against availability of low stocks in the spot markets mainly led to a rise in jeera prices at futures trade.
