The police have found thousands of indecent MMS clips on the computer of Omprakash Pradhan,one of the accused in the alleged gang rape of a minor Dalit girl in Mandla.
Student of a private engineering college in Jabalpur,Omprakash and five of his friends had raped the victim in a jungle in Mandla town and filmed the incident on a cell phone.
The son of a deputy collector posted in the same district,Omprakash is on the run with two others. Their three accomplices,including Sandeep Ahirwar,son of a head constable,have been arrested.
A police team led by an additional SP raided the deputy collector’s official residence in Civil Lines late on Wednesday and seized Omprakash’s computer.
We found thousands of indecent clips of foreign and Indian origin and are analysing them to find if more local girls were victimised by the gang, sub-divisional police officer Santosh Mahto said.
The police said Sitaram Pradhan told them his son would surrender in a day or two. He claimed he did not know how to operate the computer and was unaware of what his son had stored.
A reward of Rs 2,000 had been announced for information leading to arrest of Omprakash who disappeared from Jabalpur after his friends were arrested.
