Chautala cases transferred to one court

A city court transferred all three disproportionate assets cases against former chief minister of Haryana Om Prakash Chautala and his two sons,Ajay and Abhay,to a single court for their speedy trial

A city court on Wednesday transferred all three disproportionate assets cases against former chief minister of Haryana Om Prakash Chautala and his two sons,Ajay and Abhay,to a single court for their speedy trial.

Acting on a CBI plea,District Judge Sunita Gupta shifted the cases to the court of Special CBI Judge Manu Rai Sethi. The probe agency’s plea was not opposed by the Chautalas.

The CBI had told the court that since some evidence is common in all the three cases which are being heard in different courts, conclusion of the trial will take a long time and therefore, they should be transferred to one court.
