Bail expires,Kanda surrenders

Additional Solicitor General Sidharth Luthra said the interim bail to Kanda was against judicial discipline.

Former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda accused of abetting the suicide of an ex-airhostess surrendered before a Delhi trial court after his month-long interim bail expired on Friday.

Meanwhile,the Delhi High Court agreed to examine the Delhi Polices plea challenging the trial courts September 5 order that granted the interim bail to Kanda. In its plea,the police referred to an earlier high court order wherein they had refused bail to Suresh Kalmadi,facing trial in the Commonwealth Games scam case.

Additional Solicitor General Sidharth Luthra said the interim bail to Kanda was against judicial discipline. The next date of hearing is fixed for October 21 in the high court.
