Slain forest brigand Veerappan’s wife Muthulakshmi was arrested by a team of the Karnataka Police late on Tuesday night from her residence in Mettur in Salem district. Local police sources said Muthulakshmi was named in five cases registered in Karnataka, along with 45 others.
According to sources, Muthulakshmi was named in several cases, including kidnapping of Kannada film actor Rajkumar in 2002, and a non-bailable warrant was pending against her and many others suspected to have helped Veerappan during his heydays. The police sources added that the cases were registered against her at Kollikal, Madheswaran Hill and Chamrajnagar police stations in Karnataka.
