CHENNAI, August 24: Two big fires were reported in two different slum areas in the city within the space of 24 hours. Over 50 huts were destroyed in the Nochikuppam area at Mylapore while the other blaze was at Shastri Nagar. The latter claimed five lives. TN CM M Karunanidhi has said that he suspected anti-social elements to be responsible for the incidents, and has asked police to bring them to book.
