PUNE, April 21: Col. Vinayak Tambekar (retd) has been appointed as the joint director, News, Mumbai Doordarshan. He joined Indian Information Service after serving the Army. He was a public relations officer of Ministry of Defence in Pune for 12 years.
During his 33 years of service, Col. Tambekar has served with All India Radio, Press Information Bureau and Field Publicity. As a joint director of Field Publicity for Maharashtra, Gujrat and Goa, he was responsible for planning and execution of information campaigns on AIDS awareness, child rights, rural development, and national social assistance programme.
