Battling half-centuries from Boeta Dippenaar and Mark Boucher helped South Africa reach 196 for eight wickets against Pakistan in the fifth match of the Morocco Cup triangular tournament on Sunday.
Splendid bowling from veteran fast bowlers Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis sent South Africa’s innings into an early spiral from which they struggled to escape for the rest of the innings after Shaun Pollock had won the toss and chosen to bat first. Wasim struck the first blow with the opening ball of the match when Herschelle Gibbs drove at what would have been a wide only to edge the ball into the gloves of Rashid Latif and Jacques Kallis (3) was bowled by Waqar in the second over.
