People’s Conference ‘‘proxy’’ candidate for Lolab on Friday staged a day-long dharna in Kupwara to press his demand on shifting Kupwara SP Kupwara whom he accused for partisan approach. Abdul Haque Khan has already threatened to pull out if the SP was not shifted. ‘‘SP Kupwara G.M. Dar is an ally of National Conference and conducting election in his presence will discredit the entire poll process,’’ Khan said.
Reports said the authorities have ordered the transfer of SHO Sogam and Lalpore of Lolab constituency. It was learnt that the ruling party has sought their transfer.
